A Lippan art bag does not go unnoticed. It is a conversation starter, a statement of intent, and a wearable piece of cultural history — all at once. The raised clay work and intricate patterning are the result of a craft tradition perfected over centuries, made entirely by hand, and impossible to replicate by machine. When you carry a Lippan art piece, you become part of a story far larger than fashion — one of cultural preservation, conscious living, and the quiet power of choosing something that truly matters. You have chosen with intention — and this bag is proof of that.
The Craft
Long before fashion had a name, the women of India were pressing mirrors into clay — decorating the walls of their homes with geometric patterns that caught the light and told stories of the land they lived on. This is Lippan art. A tradition centuries old, passed down not through books or institutions, but through hands — a mother's to a daughter's, a master's to an apprentice's, generation after generation.
At Dear Artisan, we believe some things are too beautiful to be lost to time. Every bag in this collection is handcrafted by skilled artisans who carry this living heritage in their hands — each mirror placed with intention, each layer of clay shaped with care that no machine can replicate. Made using sustainable, cruelty-free materials, these are not mass-produced accessories. They are slow, conscious objects — ethical, fair trade, and made the way they have always been made.
When you carry a Dear Artisan Lippan art bag, you are not simply carrying a bag. You are wearing a legacy — a piece of a tradition that has survived centuries and continues because people choose to value the hands that make it.

Care
The fabric top can be gently spot-cleaned with a damp cloth. The Lippan base panel should be wiped dry only, do not machine wash. Just wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. Do not submerge in water or use cleaning products on the Lippan panel. Do not use chemical cleaners, alcohol-based products, or abrasive materials on any part of the bag. The hand-set mirrors are durable but should be handled with care. Keep away from sharp objects — the mirror work can chip if scratched. Store in the dust bag provided when not in use. Keep away from direct sunlight.
