A pair of vivid orange starfish - stitched large, centred and completely confident - fill the face of this wallet. In a collection full of florals, this one says something entirely different. It is the wallet for someone who likes to stand apart from the arrangement.
The Craft
This wallet began as grass - Kauna reed grass, harvested from the wetlands of Manipur, Northeast India, by the farming community artisans who wove it into the structure you now hold. The embroidery was stitched by the same hands that wove the base: carefully, unhurried. Kauna grass is sustainable by nature - not as a product feature but as a fact of what it is. It grows back. It requires no chemicals. It biodegrades. The community that makes things from it does not require industrial infrastructure to do extraordinary work. They require only what they have always had: skill, time, and the land they come from.

Care
Spot clean with a slightly damp cloth if needed; avoid soaking or machine washing. Keep away from prolonged moisture or direct sunlight, which may affect the natural grass and embroidery. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use. The natural Kauna grass may lighten slightly over time - this is a characteristic of the material, not a defect. Each bag is handwoven and hand-embroidered - small variations in weave density and stitch placement are the honest signature of authentic handcraft. The natural Kauna grass construction gives this bag an inherent resilience - if compressed during travel or storage, it will gently restore itself to its original form within a few hours. This is not a feature added to the material. It is simply what the material is.
