The Craft
The white background of this bag is entirely covered in Lippan Kaam mirror work with tiny mirrors hand-pressed into a clay base by artisans Mumbai, enliving the Lippan Kaam famous in in Kutch, Gujarat. The Hamsa is then hand-painted at the centre, its muted colours a deliberate contrast to the sparkling silver surround. The mirror-setting alone takes hours; this is not a bag that can be rushed.
Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. Do not submerge in water or use cleaning products on the Lippan panel. The hand-set mirrors are durable but should be handled with care. Store in the dust bag provided when not in use. Keep away from direct sunlight. Note: the white exterior is susceptible to marks, use the dust bag consistently.
